YOU WILL NEED 

• Yarn of your choice in colors: Gray (or any other you like, let’s just call it Main Color) for the head, body, legs and ears; Pale Pink (for the feet, arms, ears, nose and tail), Blue and White (for the stripy t-shirt); 

• A pair of safety eyes; 

• Scraps of white, pink and dark brown thread for embroidery; 

•Crochet hook suitable for the yarn of your choice; 

•Needle, pins, stitch marker; 

• Toy stuffing.

Stuff the nose tightly, start stuffing the head.

Before working the last round, make sure the head is stuffed very firmly and has a spherical shape. Pay attention to the back of the head: it shouldn’t be flat. Add some more stuffing using a bamboo skewer if needed.

Fasten off leaving a tail about 15 cm long and cut the yarn. Using a tapestry needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each stitch and pull tight to close. Weave in the end.

ASSEMBLY and finishing touches 

• Stuff the body, sew it to the head. 

• Sew the legs to the body between rounds 8 and 19, making sure the construction is stable and the toy can sit without rolling to one side. Stuff the hips lightly before closing the gaps. Bend the legs and secure them with a couple of stitches in the proper position. 

• Sew the hands to the body making sure the striped colors are matched. The hands don’t need to be stuffed. 

• Sew the tail to the back of the body between rounds 7 and 9. 

• Pinch down the bottom parts of the ears, sew them to the head approx. between rounds 22 and 24. 

• Attach, glue on or embroider the eyes in the position that looks best for you. 

• Using yarn scraps or embroidery floss in different colors, make the nose, eyelids, eyebrows, cheeks and fingers. 

• Make some stitches in contrasting color here and there on the head and the belly to give your toy more personality.
